AI summary

Gives you a self-replenishing pool of Mana that grows with use and can generate, control or end any phenomenon you desire — fireballs, healing, teleportation, reality warping, altering fate, manipulating concepts. Cost scales with how naturally impossible, how permanent and how potent the effect is, and you can lower it by building restrictions into your spells; a mental library tracks everything you have made. Your magic bypasses all mystical immunities and resistances, cannot be interfered with by anyone unless you allow it, and can permanently grant you new abilities rated to work against omnipotent-tier beings — but it cannot be used on itself.

Effects

  • Gain a pool of Mana, using this pool you're able to generate, control and destroy or end any phenomenon or effect you could desire. Your pool of Mana grows with use and refills itself from 0-100% over the course of three hours assuming that it's not being used for that length of time.

  • Fireballs, lasers, healing, barriers, telepathy, teleportation, telekinesis, warping reality on a personal and cosmological scale, altering the course of fate, manipulating conceptual forces, etc. anything you could think of to be honest. The only caveat is that effects need Mana and the cost of each 'spell' is decided by 3 factors: its Possibility, Permanence and Potency.

  • Possibility Vs Impossibility: what is and isn't naturally possible plays a big role in a spell's cost, what's naturally possible is immensely cheaper compared to creating effects that are naturally impossible. Whatever happens in nature or can be accomplished by human effort, any effect along these lines are much cheaper than impossible effects like control over time and space or reviving the dead. If it can be accomplished with effort, science, magic, artifacts, a god's domains, etc. then it's considered natural and possible but if no one in that setting you're in can do it then it is considered impossible and will cost more Mana. Keep in mind that different things are possible/impossible in different settings, so your Mana costs can change depending on where you go. In one setting resurrection is impossible so costly, in another it's a fairly common thing so natural and cheaper for it.

  • Permanent Vs Temporary: a simple rule of thumb is that the longer the effect lasts the more Mana it takes to cast the spell, effects that have set time limits or conditions which would deactivate/dispel the magic are much cheaper than spells that would last eternally and be unending.

  • Potency: it should be obvious that powerful spells require more juice than weaker ones, the laser that destroys a building is cheaper than the laser that destroys celestial bodies or the difference between a spell that gives you 5 tons of super strength is cheaper than its 5'000 tons variant.

  • Basically, a temporary natural phenomenon is far cheaper than a permanent impossible one. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that a high cost spell is better than a cheaper one, they all have their places and uses, and well placed blades can outdo bombs in the right circumstances.

  • Intentionally adding failings, restrictions and limits to your spells will lower their final cost. You can create spells that absolutely severs and cuts all things in existence, which have horrendously high Mana costs, but because of placing limits of your own making in them the costs go down depending on how much they're limiting the spell, the more the limits the less the costs.

  • Phenomenon you create and control using this Essence possess the absolute ability to bypass all magical and mystical immunities and resistances, affecting every target with the same level of effect as if they were plain old humans, even if they were higher ups on a cosmic hierarchy of beings or the concept of 'Immutable' itself.

  • You possess a mental library of all the spells you've created to date, including their costs/effects. Making new spells is intuitively easy and are always what you envision them into being. Cosmetic changes that have bearing on the spells effects are free.

  • Your spells can't be interfered with by other entities or effects unless they were created to allow such a thing, which means you can place curses on seemingly all powerful foes that not even they can just wipe away using reality warping, the spell will carry out all of its effects before fizzling out (assuming that it wasn't a permanent spell). Also includes things like anti-magic, immunity to certain phenomena, omnipotence, etc. once a spell is set or activated it will take effect despite any attempts to prevent or cancel it unless you yourself cancel them.

  • Yes you can grant yourself new abilities and immunities permanently and because of the previous point they'll be as absolute as any other Essence granted abilities, rated to go against Omnipotent+ entities but remember: stronger effects + impossible + permanence + no limits/drawbacks = horrendously costly spell.

  • Your Mana cannot be manipulated against your will, nor siphoned, copied, drained, etc.

  • Lastly, this Essence can't affect itself, points for thinking about using it to Jailbreak itself for more immediate power but I know what you lot can be like…
