AI summary

Gives you absolute ownership of the Karnoffel Code along with the Hex and OLD_DATA, letting you convert digital matter to physical and back, code anything you need into existence, enter and mod Digital Worlds whose inhabitants are always friendly to you, open portals to other worlds, and inflict horrifying visions of their own deaths on anyone who tries to divine your existence with ill intent. You also gain the power to inscribe Cards into any medium at all and summon whatever they depict — a weapon, a slime wizard, the Moon — seeing through and controlling them as extensions of yourself, plus blank cards inscribed with Effects that can be granted to your cards or to other beings. You choose whether any of it registers as magic, you receive non-functional duplicate cards suitable for making a trading card game, and you can turn any defeated or unaware foe into a card, which stays more sentient than your own creations.

Description

Imbibing this Essence makes you feel the cringe towards a man named Luke, and the feeling of four beings of unfathomable power pushing your back towards a brighter tomorrow.

Effects

27
  • One-time Appearance change. This isn’t cosmetic, so be a robot, a skeleton, a leafy thing, or a leshy, for all I care. This has the side effect of making you biologically immortal to the point you don't age after reaching your prime.

  • You have gained absolute ownership of the Karnoffel Code itself and everything that comes with it, such as the Hex and the OLD_DATA.

  • Owning the Karnoffel Code has granted you a boon to turn digital matter into physical matter at will, and vice versa. It also grants you master coding powers for you to make whatever digital stuff you need so you can turn it into physical matter.

  • Through the Hex, you can enter Digital Worlds at will, and your actions will spurn the Worlds you’ve interacted with to create more content for you to share with anyone as a new modded Digital World.

  • All the beings in the Digital World or from them will always be friendly, loyal, or amicable to you in some kind of sense. The evil beings from a Digital World would find your presence calming them, preventing them from doing the worst things in your presence. They are still evil, though.

  • You can use the Hex to create portals to other worlds for some reason.

  • The OLD_DATA ensures that anyone who wishes ill intent on you by divining or trying to find out about your existence will suffer horrifying visions of their own deaths if they pursue that path.

  • You have gained the power to make Cards by inscribing them into some kind of medium. What kind of medium? Anything, be it a camera that captures things in a film, a tablet to place details of a dead person, a brush that allows you to paint things to life, or a scanner to record robots into said cards.

  • You can use as many mediums as you want. You're not as limited as you think you are.

  • The Cards allow you to summon anything inscribed in them. Be they a weapon that you can use, a spell-slinging slime wizard, or the FUCKING MOON, you can summon them at will. There’s a slight delay as the Cards will turn into light-like Digital Matter briefly before coalescing into whatever you have inscribed.

  • You can see through the cards and control them like they are an extension of you.

  • You can inscribe blank cards with Effects and use them for yourself or other beings. A multi-attack will create ethereal versions of themselves to attack other beings, a push effect might push you away from an attack after you attack first to dodge attacks, and more.

  • You can bestow Effects onto the Cards you have inscribed.

  • You can choose whether this aspect of the Essence is magical or not. Making mages look like a bunch of nitwits as they try and fail to figure out your magic but you are actually manipulating reality itself like an eldritch abomination, or making the mundane give up trying to understand the underlying metaphysics of magic itself.

  • You also obtain not usable copies of the cards you make, allowing you to create a trading card game from them. Not usable, as in not capable of summoning entities or objects or using effects.

  • You have the power to turn any defeated or unaware foe into a card. They are more sentient unlike the cards you’ve created due to their minds, but also they can communicate with you with their titles changing to what words they spoke. You can also release them, but why would you?

  • They will be forced to do anything you order them to, even eating the flesh of their kind. They can’t disobey your orders, nor they can do anything in their new state of being as every death would just return them back to your deck, waiting to be drawn once again.

  • If you're using the Medium of Photography, a camera flash is enough to make any foe become disoriented enough to be considered unaware.

  • Your cards are indestructible to all but not you. You may destroy or alter your cards like what the Mycologist and Leshy have done. Allowing you to mix and match cards to make them powerful or cause multiple effects.

  • You may give other people or beings with sufficient sentience with the same power to inscribe cards. However, they are more limited in a sense as they need a duel disk or something similar to summon or use the effects.

  • The limitation will be removed should they master their own way of inscribing cards into mediums.

  • You have the power to create items that would aid you in inscribing cards and creating or causing effects. The items can be as simple as a duel disk, or as complex as a prosthetic eye that allows you to see things unseen… or even a robot that could beat the [VERY EXPLETIVE, N-WORD PASS REQUIRED] out of someone on trading card games.

  • You may integrate the items to yourself as if they are modules for a cyborg body.

  • Optionally, you may take the Digital World of Inscryption as a Hub World of some kind. You may find portions of the Karnoffel Code’s Hex forming a portal to other worlds if you choose to do so.

  • Optionally, you may take all the Scribes and the NPCs in the world of Inscryption as companions. Seriously, take them and save them from suffering.

  • This Essence cannot be destroyed, forcibly changed or stolen.

  • Fanwank responsibly.
