AI summary

Binds you by Contract to the Financial District, reset down to a single district but yours to command, generating a Metaphorical Currency that can take the form of any money you can think of and into which all your existing wealth is merged as Investment. Grown large enough, the District reflects itself into the surrounding world so that battles fought inside carry real consequences — a toggle that becomes permanent for any world you leave it enabled in — and you can call down the Rotary Press to seize a country's future economy and fold it permanently into the District. You can buy anything from the District at half price (High-End Essences excepted), and as its Accountant you have limitless potential in anything economic, instantly know the true value of anything, and never suffer diminishing returns or financial scrutiny on your investments.

Description

Touching this ancient black card with a circle on its body, you realized that you can spin the circle around. You think you saw something when you spin it fast, but can’t because you’re not looking closely. You’ve decided to raise it up to eye-level and spin the circle… You shouldn’t have done that, because the card disintegrated and some of it got stuck in your eye. You have no one to blame but yourself for this mess. I mean, come on. It's old. So, of course, it will turn to dust.

Effects

52
  • You have obtained a single chance to change your form retroactively. This is your default form, the appearance you return to when not transformed.

  • By spinning the circle, you have accepted the Contract, the most important Deal of your life. In turn, a location, or rather an Entity, has decided to give full access to what you can do with its power. However, something was added to it that Pataphorically changed it permanently and in turn made it evocatively different than normal. This is the Financial District, and you’ve become its Accountant. It exists adjacent to Reality, and the only way to enter it is to be invited into it.

  • Due to its new state of Existence, the Financial District is resetted, for lack of a better term, and thus it starts small yet big enough to be a single District, unlike its previous Global-sized state. Over time, as more currencies are made by you or the individuals who made a contract with you, it will expand enough to be able to generate its own form of Metaphorical Currency known as Midas Money, which will allow it to expand on its own.

  • This Metaphorical Currency can transform into any currency you can think of. By default, they look like an ornate black piece of paper money depicting the mythologies of the current World or Setting.

  • Any currencies you already have or have gained will be merged into their respective Stocks of this Metaphorical Currency. This is considered an Investment to the Financial District as a whole, giving you an income of sorts. The income increases exponentially depending on how big the Financial District is currently.

  • If it gets big enough, the Financial District will reflect itself into the current World or Setting. This causes all battles, the name of which is below, performed here will confer consequences in Reality. An entire country’s economy might be erased if it gets too chaotic.

  • This aspect is toggleable, only when you leave the current World or Setting. If this aspect is enabled when you leave, then it is permanently placed onto the World or Setting you’ve been on.

  • You can use this Metaphorical Currency to buy anything from the Financial District. Even though the things you buy are discounted at half price, the High-End Essences (those Essences that give you god-like powers) that the Financial District offers tend to be worth at least ten decillion in value and probably won’t matter in the long run. They are only placed there to see if you’re greedy enough to take power into your own hands.

  • Once the Financial District is big enough, you may call upon the Rotary Press to descend, seizing the Country’s Future Economy to permanently make it a part of the Financial District and massively increase its size. Be warned of the consequences done by this very aspect. It might even end the World or Setting if you’re not very careful in its usage.

  • Naturally, as the Accountant of the Financial District, you have gained limitless potential regarding anything based on the Economy. Not only that, but you would know the value of anything regardless of whether you have the power to do so or not, as if your hunch about its value is always right.

  • Not only that, but any investment you have made will never get diminishing returns, somehow, and will not be investigated for any financial discrepancies.

  • Strangely, anything you have invested in will always be a massive success. Totally not because the Financial District is warping reality.

  • As the Accountant of the Financial District, you have much more access to things that an ordinary person would have. You have gained the powers that are similar to the partners of those who have made a Deal with the Financial District.

  • You can use the Midas Money to create objects with varying durability depending on how much currency you use.

  • Through the Flations, you can achieve impossibilities by expending a large amount of currency. Doing so will perform an action that is themed around Economics.

  • Do note that the currency that you can use can’t be infinite, as doing so will make it null and void.

  • A cost to a form of currency is needed to exponentially enhance the attack you can do with the Flations. There are three known Flations. Micro, Mezzo, and Macro.

  • Below a million value of the currency, you can manifest Micro-Flation, which exponentially enhances your attacks.

  • When you reach a million value of the currency, you will perform a Mezzo-Flation. This will allow you to perform an attack with an esoteric effect on the Economy of the Current World or Setting you are located in.

  • Reach ten million value on the currency cost, and you’ll perform a Macro-Flation. This will allow you to perform an incredibly powerful attack that has major consequences for the Economy of the current World or Setting you are located in.

  • There is actually a fourth known Flation type but it is unknown what it is designated by due to its self-actualizing nature, and it somewhat breaks the rules of a Deal. It is represented by selling a product when the company is already selling a similar product.

  • For some reason, any Flations based on good business conduct are hilariously overpowered and destroy any normal Flations.

  • An example would be Mezzoflation “Angel”, which is represented by a company looking out for the well-being of their employees.

  • It has always been said that those with the money can bleed themselves of it. That is most literal to you. Whenever you are damaged enough to cut deep beneath your skin, you will bleed a portion of the currency you currently have, being turned into Midas Money with an ink-like, oily substance exploding away from the damaged area, in return for immediate restoration of yourself. The Midas Money that bled out of you can’t be used anymore, as it is ruined by the oily substance you expelled alongside it. This also allows you to ignore the pain caused by the damage to you.

  • Those you made Entré will also do the same thing, albeit the restoration cost from the currency is slightly higher than yours, as it is taxed and given to you by the Financial District.

  • You may use a portion of your currency to create a make-shift energy-like sword that can cut through almost anything. However, due to it being made out of currency, it will immediately be destroyed upon usage as the cost of using this aspect. The more currency, the longer the sword would be.

  • You may manifest an Asset. Metaphysical beings that represent the Future of the Economy. Yours can look whatever you want.

  • Your Asset can’t go against you as you are the Present to their Future.

  • If you look closely, the first Asset you materialized isn’t really your true Asset but an Advisor created by the Financial District.

  • You can give a Financial Card you have to someone, thereby making them a Deal to become an Entré, and in turn, their very future becomes a metaphysical entity known as an Asset. Currently, you can only make six Entrés, but as the Financial District expands, you will be able to get more.

  • An Entré’s Asset takes the form of their associated Future. They may even appear as their dead relative or their hypothetical offspring.

  • Much like your own Asset, an Entré’s Asset can’t go against them.

  • The Financial Card has different colors and symbols attached to the circle to signify ranking. The Financial Card also has special privileges associated with its ranking.

  • The First Level of the Financial Card bears the color grey and a face of a sleeping man on its circle. This allows an Entré to summon their Assets into Reality and trade the currency in the Financial District.

  • The Second Level of the Financial Card bears the color gold and the crescent moon face on its circle. The Entré’s Asset is enhanced, and the Midas Money they have on hand outside the Financial District can now be turned into any currency they have interacted with or have knowledge of.

  • The Third Level of the Financial Card bears the color platinum white and a skull on its circle. The Entré have the same privileges as the previous levels, with the addition that they can now teleport others to a private area given by the Financial District.

  • The Fourth and Last Level of the Financial Card bears the color black and an Eldritch creature on its circle. In addition to the privileges from the previous levels, the Entré can exchange an Economy’s future to print an equal amount of Midas Money directly at the moment by calling forth the Rotary Press. Be warned of the consequences of this special privilege. If it weren’t for your role as the Accountant of the Financial District, you would’ve gotten this instead.

  • As a mandatory protocol of using the Rotary Press, the Entré is forced to see the Futures they’ve removed. They will live on with the consequences of their greed… for the better or worse.

  • An Entré can perform a Deal with another Entré, allowing the two to fight with their Assets, with the one who wins seizing most of the losing Entré’s Stock Currency.

  • As the Financial District expands, the losing Entré's Stock Currency would reduce what they will lose until they only lose a portion to ensure more future Deals will be made.

  • Losing everything will take away the Entré’s Future and shatter the Financial Card you give them as they are exiled permanently from the Financial District. This can lead to small bad changes in their lives to outright horrible fates.

  • A horrible example would be making their spouse barren and their offspring cease from existence.

  • You can hire an Entré into a District Manager, allowing them to have special privileges as you, albeit they will always answer to you first and foremost. This removes them from the active Entré List and, in turn, removes their ability to perform a Deal and manifest their Asset into Reality.

  • Should you desire so, you may give them a copy of this Essence once the Financial District is big enough to be a World or Setting of its own. This will expand your operations to Franchising and allow your Financial District to become a Financial Sector that connects to their Financial Districts.

  • The aspect above, where the consequences of the Deals made in the Financial District will either not happen anymore or happen once in a while, as the Financial Sector will take the brunt of the consequences. This causes Deals to be dynamic in the Financial Sector as the landscape changes over time.

  • As an option, you can take any characters to become your companions. They will also become District Managers who will help you run the new and improved Financial District.

  • You have the option to allow the Financial District to connect to other Worlds or Setting once it becomes big enough. However, it costs a large amount of Midas Money just to open a connection. The safer the world, the higher the cost.

  • Slapstick Worlds or Settings, such as Looney Toons or Nichijou, are free… Mostly because the value of Currency changes depending on how funny the event is, and thus is irrelevant to the Financial District.

  • This becomes no longer an option, but an aspect of this Essence should your Financial District become a Financial Sector.

  • This Essence, and all its aspects, can’t be erased, forcibly changed, removed, or stolen. Doing so will probably not be a good idea.

  • Fanwank responsibly.

  • Note: The reason for the font effects/formatting is due to the Pataphorical Ink upgrades this Essence has received.
