Essence of theHint System

By imbibing this essence (based on the "trading survival craft" novel genre), you gain the following benefits:

• You awaken the Hint System, a cheat that drip feeds you important information for you to quickly get ahead. Its level of clairvoyance and prescience borders on true omniscience and precognition. Only true versions of the latter two trump it.

• You can consciously set the rough nature and subject matter of the hints, though not directly ask questions. For instance, you can set it to automatically scout out the threats and rewards of various directions (e.g. "forward 100 metres: three treasure chests and only one goblin guarding it, easy pickings"), but not directly ask it what someone ate for lunch if the hint did not organically emerge.

• It will try to prioritize hints that you would find meaningful, so you do not have to worry about being flooded with "junk" data.

• Hints will generally be projected as an overlay into your vision near the relevant objects. For instance, over a container with something good or in the general direction when you turn toward something of interest outside of your direct line of sight. Fully disembodied information will simply to be projected as a screen in front of you that only you can see.

• Your own actions and status are hidden from similar forms of information gathering. Anything except direct personal observation will be unable to discern anything meaningful about your current condition. Under the logic of prescient beings having issues predicting each other's transcendent decisions, you will be a blind spot for predictive systems even if they simply try to create an abstract model of you. This protections works on both supernatural and technological means, anything above base human-level direct interaction.

• As a top of the line System though, you are able to mostly work around other competing ones. Your hints can broadly collect information and form predictions on other prescient systems, though not to the same unilaterally indomitable degree as against normal intelligences. Only true omniscience and precognition can stump it, and even then it can at least tell you when you should bail against such a foe.
