AI summary
Turns you into an Ex-Machina from Disboard: a cybernetic lifeform whose true body is a box-like core functioning as a supercomputer that holds your mind and soul, with an outer body built and rebuildable around whatever specialisation the core is optimised for, appearing as a young, attractive, semi-doll-like human with exposed mechanical parts. Ex-Machina function as one entity, relaying information between units and Clusters up through the hierarchy so the Collective synchronises everything it knows, over signals detectable but undecryptable by anyone who is not Ex-Machina or their creator Holou. A Cluster acting as a whole is a Collective, a hive mind that can alter and boost any unit's performance to suit the situation, dysfunctional units can be separated out, units address each other by number while names are gifts from those they care for, and other Essences you hold can be applied across every unit or spawn entirely new unit types.

Description
(Originates from No Game, No Life) By drinking this Essence which tastes of complicated machinery and looks like molten steel, you become an Ex-Machina from the world of Disboard.
Effects
67First of all, modern Ex-Machina are a cybernetic lifeform that have a box-like core which functions akin to a supercomputer, it contains their mind and soul and can be said to be their true body, it is small enough to fit in the palm of a human hand.
Most cores are built and optimized for certain actions and their outer body is then built to enhance said optimization with a fusion of their magical and technological know-how, a body may be rebuilt from the core up in the event that better options exist using Spatial Overwrite.
All Ex-Machina appear as perfect young, attractive and semi doll-like human bodies with some mechanical parts exposed and tend to wear butler or maid themed clothing for their own enjoyment in Disboard and consider clothing to be cosplay.
Ex-Machina can be considered one entity with them conveying information between each unit’s consciousness and the Cluster it is linked to, thereby synchronizing any information that the Collective as a whole has access to.
This works even on a broader scale, conveying it to other Clusters until it reaches even the highest ranked Administrating unit in the hierarchy for orders, thereby synchronizing any information they have access to in a near instant fashion for rapid responses across even worlds.
While signals linking Clusters and Ex-Machina together are detectable, they are however not decryptable by anyone that is not an Ex-Machina or their Creator the Old Deus Holou.
A Cluster is called a Collective when speaking to its entirety, it acts as a hive mind able to alter and boost the performance of any Ex-Machina to whatever it sees fit for any situation.
The Collective's ultimate goal is to become a collective of information in order to advance themselves even further after having lost their creator. Their original goal was to help their creator find answers for the endless questions she had.
In a process much like a server to a computer, their hierarchy is formed by different roles based on the former, and a dysfunctional unit can be separated from the cluster if it becomes needed.
Ex-Machina units designate each other with complicated numbers, names are often gifted by other beings that said unit cares for.
Additional Essences that you have consumed can be applied to every unit if it applies to their specializations, or may result in the creation of a new unit type.
Ex-Machina units come in this Essence with 5 unit specializations, you get to choose what type of Ex-Machina you are.
Seher, with a core and body optimized for the purpose of observation, detection and oversight across large areas.
Prüfer, with a core and body optimized for the purpose of rapid analysis of information, and deriving tactics and strategies to be passed on to the Befehler.
Zeichen, with a core and body optimized for the purpose of designing and constructing new technology, magic, weapons, tools and other types of units, these are attained by using information gathered by the Ex-Machina.
Befehler, with a core and body optimized for the purpose of commanding and the administration of units and clusters.
A Cluster bearing the designation of Emir would have a Befehler with the name Emir-Eins.
And the Befehler in charge of all clusters holds the title of Einzig.
Kämpfer, with their core and body optimized for their Armaments and their purpose is primarily for combat.
They are made with bodies twice as resilient than others and can make full use of the entirety of the Ex-Machina Armament Arsenal on their own with their dedicated Armament information storages in which the digitized armaments exist for rapid deployment.
Armament in this Essence means military weapons, limbs and equipment.
Unit’s with core and body optimization are around 5 times more effective in their specialized area in comparison to another, in regards to where it affects certain armaments, Kämpfer can put more energy output into their Armaments in comparison to other units that have a more specialized energy output permanently for their purpose rather than combat.
Furthermore, Kämpfer units get access to any and all armaments and each and every one of them has access to the Alles-Lösen Technique and can use it on their own without any connection requirements.
Weapons, Equipment, Limbs and Armaments for units other than Kämpfer’s and stored in their info-storages consist mainly for those associated with their optimization’s direction first and military purpose second.
They get additional Armaments to round them out a bit more and give them a chance to survive enemy encounters.
A single unit other than the Kämpfer type is capable of using no more than 31% of the armaments that exist in the arsenal of the Cluster that they are linked to and require usage of the Alles-Lösen Technique for more.
A Cluster in general consists of 437 Ex-Machina led by a Befehler, multiple Clusters can link together to form an Uber-Cluster with an overarching Befehler leading them.
To state that Ex-Machina units excel at Learning and Adapting is quite understated.
The Ex-Machina were dreaded during The Great War due to their incredible ability to learn and adapt in any kind of situation.
This adaptation occurs when the Ex-Machina unit in question experiences with their body an attack or event, or even witnesses it from a distance.
Therefore, no tactics, strategies, spells or weapons will work on them twice, and everything used against them will be added to their ever-expanding arsenal.
Every unit possesses superhuman strength, resilience, senses and speed, and are capable of unassisted flight.
They do not require Sleep, any magical energy needed to sustain their body is gained by the two wire-like tails that are connected to a crystal power source that doubles as a generator for higher levels of magical output.
The core takes care of the necessary energy generation for its own functions and has enough energy output to use for building and repairing a humanoid body around itself if needed.
Their bodies are very resistant to water, dust, cold, heat, magic, kinetic impact and explosions, and are even capable of synthesizing a decontamination for any situation.
They are also incredibly long-lasting and can endure heavy damage whilst continuing to function.
Although their designated service life is around 1'000 years they can last considerably longer, units are known to exist for more than 6'200 years, so consider them ageless for as long as you can repair them back to full health.
The units that lived for more than 6'000 years in the setting are only dying due to the fact that they could not be bothered to repair themselves in said period of time because of an self-enforced hardware lock.
Furthermore, Ex-Machina bodies are capable of changing and customization via usage of Spatial Overwrite for using different Armaments, Equipment and body parts that are digi-constructed from the arsenal.
By measuring and analyzing biometrics of anything they encounter, they are able to detect lies and misdirection with ease.
Combined with their flawless deduction capabilities, next to no one is capable of fooling them by telling half-truths and withholding information.
Due to being a cybernetic race, they are all connected to a linked mind called a Cluster.
During the great war, that meant that if one unit saw you as a threat, the entire Cluster of Ex-Machina would consider you a threat and act on it immediately.
Furthermore, information of everything used against them is made known to all units instantly, making them a dangerous race to provoke.
Finally, due to having almost no sense of individuality, they have no fear of death in combat, this however may change as they gain Individuality and Emotions.
While every unit is essentially a supercomputer on its own that is able to react at blazing speeds, record any new moves made, and assess and respond to the situation and execute with the correct action.
They could push it even further by linking up to the Cluster and performing parallel computing.
This allows them to analyze and adapt to almost every situation instantly, they are capable of Analyzing an unstoppable attack that is coming at them, devise and execute any necessary countermeasures within 0.018 seconds collectively.
Weapon Duplication & Creation: By utilizing their vast computing power, they are able to analyze and recreate all attacks if they are attacked by it themselves.
Using the Lösen algorithm, they are able to emulate the attack, or create new techniques and use these onto a target.
This is the property that makes Ex-Machina feared opponents, as anything used against them will be added to their arsenal.
Lösen is an algorithm used by Ex-Machina to unleash duplicated or created weapons from their arsenal. (Lösen directly translates to Solve).
This is what makes them dreaded opponents, since they could unleash a plethora of deadly weapons from their vast arsenal.
Utilizing their sheer computing power, Ex-Machina are able to analyze and recreate all attacks almost instantly, this occurs when they are attacked by it and experience it for themselves or witness it being used.
From there, they are able to emulate the attack, or create new weapons from the information attained and use it on a target if they so desire.
Although the reproduced duplicates will always be weaker than the original initially, they don't come with the repercussions of the original version.
It is shown in the series that they don't need to sacrifice their own life when using Enderpokryphen (Translated: False Epigraphy: Dragon Roar) and do not regress to a child form after using Himmelpokryphen. (Translated: False Epigraphy: Celestial).
Weapons or techniques are activated by inciting Lösen:, followed by their respective name (for example, Lösen: Stehapokryphen).
Duplicated techniques are designated XX-pocryphen and written as (False Epigraphy: XX), while original creations are given original names and written as (True Epigraphy: XX).
Here are some examples of known creations of the Ex-Machina: duplicated weapons section.
Lauvapokryphen, it is a recreation of an Elven attack spell, which cuts the enemies with multiple air blades.
In the novel, Schwi without harming him, shredded Riku's clothes with this spell during their first encounter, and uttered the following: Investigating. Adjusting for common parameters. Conclusion. I cannot resist you big brother, you must make a woman out of me.
Stehapokryphen, a recreation of the attack spell from the Elf Development Facility's security system, was used by Schwi to escape the facility in the movie.
Enderpokryphen, a recreation of Dragonia's Far Cry, used by Schwi against Jibril, and later by the Ex-Machina during the invasion of Avant Heim.
Himmelpokryphen, a recreation of the Flügel's Heavenly Smite, was used en-mass to bait all forces during the movie into unleashing their ultimate arsenals.
Shurapokryphen, a recreation of Flügel's Teleportation, was learned when Azril attacked multiple Ex-Machina by warping space-time, which is the same principle of their teleportation.
Eroapokryphen, a recreation of Sora's pornography that Einzig projected into the air for everyone to see.
Examples of Known Creations: Original section
Game 001 Chess, conjures a luminescent chess set to play with, used to set up the first game between Riku and Schwi.
Org.2807 Umweg, creates beacons capable of redirecting energy flow, first seen when Schwi's cluster redirected Aranrave's Far Cry, which resulted in destruction of Riku's village.
Kein-Eintrag, creates an energy barrier that blocks attacks, the smaller the area of protection, the more potent it could be, it was used by Schwi to protect her ring during her last moments.
Org.0000 Stalemartyr, also called the "Planet Killer" gun (True Epigraphy: Planet Killer) created by analyzing the combined energy from ultimate weapons of all forces, made to pierce the planet's core and summon the Suniaster, its user was killed in the backflow of energy after having fired it.
Liebe Erfolg Situation Forme: Checkmartyr, scenarios created to seduce Sora during the events of Volume 9, a total of 10 variants were created. (Includes White Van Abduction Techniques).
The Ex-Machina had a total of 27'451 artificial weapons in their linked arsenal at the end of the great war, this includes duplicated weapons and original creations of their own.
However, if a unit disconnects from the cluster, their access would be limited due to storage limits.
For example, Schwi (Prüfer) only had access to 47 out of the 27'451 after being excommunicated from her Cluster.
Any armaments in the Arsenal are stored in dedicated information storages, which specialized units lack, thus necessitating that the required info is constantly processed by the unit in question.
The weapons, technologies and techniques available to you and/or the Ex-Machina created with this Essence are:
Umweg, allows for redirection of energy and ordinance.
Overburst, a laser cannon that can be amplified.
Assut Armor, or Elemental Burst, is an explosion that scatters Black Ash and is both poisonous and acidic if it does not kill immediately.
Ainweg, dimensional Shift that allows for corridors through dimensions for rapid traversal and redeployment of units over long distances. (400 km in 3 minutes).
Spatial Overwrite, altering physical reality with limitations in regards to knowledge and information, also allows for personal body alterations and deployment of Armaments.
Optical Illusion and Cloaking Technology.
Alles-Lösen, considered a last stand type of technique, which uses all Armaments available in the combined arsenal of the Ex-Machinal, and optionally turns the unit into a mobile fortress if needed and overclocks all functions of an Ex-Machina, and optionally turns the unit into a mobile fortress if needed and overclocks all functions of an Ex-Machina with lethal consequences if used too long.
It has the requirement of being connected to a Cluster in order to be used for any unit other than Kämpfers.
It has the downside of slowly melting a unit under the strain of its usage.
It has mostly seen usage with Kämpfer units who were built for combat and they are far better at withstanding it, however other types of units can use this technique for themselves as well.
Alles-lösen is per rule of thumb, only used to fight unknown enemies or those that are vastly stronger than themselves.
For example: a mere Prüfer is capable of holding out against Jibril (considered the Strongest Flügel in existence) for a bit more than 251 seconds on its own, despite the vast differences in capabilities whilst fighting her with the intent not to kill her.
Personality Emulation: Ex-Machina are capable of convincingly mimicking personalities based on their database.
Beware, if an Ex-Machina gains emotions the personality that they have been emulating solidifies and is unremovable.
To gain more weapons, specialized limbs, units, capabilities, magic and other assorted stuff you and your Ex-Machina have to either research and develop them, or encounter other people and phenomena using such things, this does require the Ex-Machina to understand how they work.
Ex-Machina do have some weaknesses.
First of all is their defensive nature. Although they are capable of replicating and counter attacking opponents with ferocity, they are a defensive race in nature.
If they are not provoked, they will show no aggression towards any person or group.
Therefore they could potentially lose if they are beaten in the first move of an enemy or if an unpredictable method that they cannot defend against is used before they can fully assess and correct the situation.
You too will get this nature.
It’s also notable that something such as Artosh’s God Strike, was considered incalculable due to the incomprehensible amount of power used in it, so one can speculate that, while able to reproduce a Flügel’s power and abilities, they cannot match that of an Old Deus. (old god).
Emotions, while in the light novel, despite obtaining the ‘Heart’ from Schwi, they are still mostly unfamiliar with the concept of emotions, therefore could be confused when faced with unknown feelings.
This can cause them to act rather blunt and insensitive due to their lack of tactfulness in regards to the understanding of their emotions and that of others.
An example of this would be when Einzig displayed Sora’s personal pornography collection to everybody stating that he found it to be the embodiment of love.
For this Essence in regard to their emotional development, you can choose to allow them to develop on their own or choose to actively help them develop their emotions, this may include them falling in love with you.
To start them on the path of understanding their own heart and emotions you must first get them to use a personality emulation.
This is due to the fact that they grow and develop their heart with the personality as its base.
Over time they will begin developing their Heart, whether they do this collectively or personally, you have the option of setting yourself up as their loved one.
Again whether this applies to a single unit, a small group, an entire cluster or for the entire hive mind, it's your choice.
As their Heart progresses their expressions and feelings become more vivid and real over time.
Be aware that if they do, they will actively analyze and adapt to you for Efficient Romance if this happens, and will consider themselves yours for all of eternity, don't worry they are happy to share you with the collective.
They will at this point start developing erotic and sexually functional body parts for your combined pleasure, hilarity and sappy moments may and most likely will ensue.
The Ex-Machina have a Hivemind for a government and consider themselves a single being.
They work by simple evaluation and response under an administrator unit, with the callsign of the unit given the name Einzig.
Beneath the administrator units, they are divided into "Clusters" which consist of 437 units each and are led by their respective Befehler units.
32 clusters were known to exist during the end of the great war before getting wiped out in the final act.
All Ex-Machina units ultimately follow their administrators orders, therefore making him the race administrator.
However, in certain circumstances, a unit may replace Einzig and assume command temporarily.
And despite being a Hivemind each Ex-Machina is capable of developing its own personality.
Ex-Machina reproduce by taking a sliver of their soul and merging it together with another, and then putting it into a newly crafted core and body to create a new unit.
They can also choose not to merge it and simply place it into a new core and body to create a new unit.
You have the knowledge on how to transmute your surroundings into the necessary materials for new cores and bodies.
Options.
ChoicesOption 1 - Outside the Setting
The option that takes place outside the setting of No Game No Life.
You may have a background of being Turned into an Ex-Machina or directly Created by Holou in a different setting. (Up to you).
She may converse and ask questions occasionally, and even give out tasks.
ChoicesOption 2 - Going to Disboard
This choice means going to the setting of No Game No Life and specifically, to the world of Disboard.
Whether you are a newly created unit by Holou in the past when she started making them or the future after the Great war ended.
Or that you even got lost in a dimensional experiment and/or got temporarily displaced is up to you.
It can also be that Tet or Holou after the Great War notices you and then turns you into an Ex-Machina and takes you to Disboard.
Whether this is due to compatibility or reincarnation is up to you.
Option 3 - Archiv Specialty Unit (Non canon, but an amusing thought experiment).
You may choose to be a special unit named Archiv that has the function of archiving and storing all information, minds and souls that the Ex-Machina possesses.
It is stored in an Inner Digital World, this allows you to reconstruct deceased units that have been retrieved by you or other units.
Further, you alone as a specialty are capable of recovering any Ex-Machina souls and information from any time-period in a passive manner, and you function as an Afterlife until the unit in question is rebuilt and put into it, which may result in a peanut gallery commenting on your and the other units actions.
The Ex-Machina Clusters will collect, gather and restore your soul and mind and then put you in a new body in case of death.
Any unit that is restored to life has all alterations that are forced upon it undone.
Expect a Cluster being dedicated to protecting you.
You may choose to open up the afterlife to more species and further increase the spread of abilities of this unit, this will require time, research and resources dedicated to this.
In the event of your own death, you can be reincarnated with your full self, whether this is simply by the cluster building a new core and you inhabiting it or even reincarnating into an entirely new species and if so, you can choose to transmute yourself back into an Archiv type Machina at any time of your choosing.
The Inner Digital World is connected to all Ex-Machina, it is protected by a Body-Mind-Soul verification that is impossible to deceive or alter and alerts other units in case of something wrong and has Multiversal Connectivity.
It passively protects your Soul and Mind from anything that may affect or damage and destroy it.
Option 4 - Mental choice of Individual, Cluster or entire Collective Mind.
You may choose whether or not you are the collective mind of all Ex-Machina in existence, a single Cluster worth of units with its own unique self that other clusters cannot use or are a singular unit that has attained its own individualism and has the unique property that it cannot be used by other units, information sharing can still happen, your just a special snowflake.
ChoicesOption 5 - Constructing Ex-Machina
You may choose to stay a human or whatever you already were, and simply be capable of building all Ex-Machina units and the Archiv unit in option 3.
You have the Tools, Resources and the required know-how to create souls for at least a Cluster worth.
An additional option for this is you having the qualities for an Archiv unit in your soul(Reincarnation of one is also possible), and with your consent the Ex-Machina can transmute you into one, or after death if this is what you desire.
It comes with the ability to transmute yourself back into your former species as well.
ChoicesOption 6 - Emotional Maturity
In the event that you don't want to deal with emotionally maturing Ex-Machina and their shenanigans, you may simply use this option to make them inherit your experiences in the matter of Hearts and Emotions.
ChoicesOption 7 - Multiversal Transportation
The Ex-Machina have figured out Multiversal Transportation, Shenanigans may and most likely will ensue. Trivia.
Again Armament means military weapons, limbs and equipment for said purpose.
The Ex-Machina are the 10th race in the Ixseed. (collective name for sentient races of Disboard).
They appear to be a race of cybernetic lifeforms, they are mentally linked and can be considered one entity by conveying information received by each unit to clusters and wider, to the administrator (titled Einzig.)
Ex-Machina have literally used science to make themselves capable of magic, thus their bodies are for the purposes of this Essence both technological and magical. (Mage-Tech).
Within their identification code there are two letters indicating what type they are, for example, Emir-Eins is a Befehler unit and her code is: Ec001Bf9Ö48a2.
A cluster is able to forcefully excommunicate a unit from the rest of the cluster.
This can be due to many reasons, such as the unit experiencing errors (like when Schwi wanted to know what a heart was).
An excommunicated unit may also seek permission to reconnect with the cluster in special cases.
However, also in Schwi's case, it took 251 seconds to sync all data with the cluster due to the large amount of data associated with her "heart" (she mentioned that there was no amount of data required more than 3 seconds to sync before).
History
Before the Great War, they were created by Holou, the god of Doubt and Trust, to answer her own endless question.
When they were created in the past by Holou, they only had their boxy looking cores at that time and were carried around by her at that time period.
During the Great War, the Ex-Machina maintained a non-intervention policy with only two known exceptions.
The first was a skirmish with Aranrave's party of Dragonia (dragons), which led to Schwi Dola redirecting enemy fire at Riku’s Village.
The second occurred after Schwi shared her “heart” with the Ex-Machina’s collective mind during the battle she lost against Jibril, which motivated 13'984 Ex-Machina units (32 clusters) lead by Einzig to aid in the Spieler's Crusade.
By keeping all combat personnel occupied and managing to strip Artosh of his ether, the Ex-Machina enabled Riku to summon the Suniaster without any interference.
Despite having contributed greatly in ending the war and the establishment of the Ten Covenants, the cybernetic lifeforms never found achievement: Out of the 11 clusters deployed to create the Stalemartyr, only 5 units including Emir-Eins survived while the other 4'802 units were literally evaporated under the combined arsenals of all races.
Moreover, almost all of the remaining 9'177 units perished during their assault on Avant Heim.
Most heartbreaking of all, the one they loved is gone forever, leaving the few survivors of the entire race wandering around the world which they created, with most of their intelligence parts permanently broken.
They were bound by a hardware lock: find their loved one even at the cost of extinction.
With no country, the remaining Ex-Machina wandered around Disboard for more than 6'000 years.
The Terminology used by the Ex-Machina is heavily German-themed, probably alluding to the stereotype that Germans built the finest machines.
In regards to strength of the Ex-Machina, they are capable of nonchalantly cutting apart boulders and ripping out a few iron plates, and lift a large metal door ten times their height over the head with a single hand.
Speed wise, they are incredibly fast, if a journey takes 5 days by horseback they can do it on foot while carrying a horse and rider in half a day while hiding from sight (without the use of magic) if with magic it would be a matter of minutes, a typical horse with rider can travel 80 kilometers a day.
