Not to mention hard to come by. You'd be very lucky if a simple detour from your walk would lead to a gold rupee. They especially appear in locations that have went unexplored for a very long time. The more ancient the location is, the higher likely chance you'll stumble across great riches in the form of rupees.
The rupees also follow the video game logic of where you'll collect them when you walk into them. You don't have to strike a pose when you collect them unless you want to. If you do; you'll always look epic and dramatic doing so. Nobody will find this weird and might even be in awe when you strike a pose.
The rupees will eventually reappear in the locations you have found them in. The rarity depends on how long they respawn. A red rupee would respawn within 2 hours for example. The platinum rupee could take up to a month to respawn.
