Essence of theFamiliar

A vial holding what seems like you in a different form, it tastes of synchronization and harmony, and companionship and loyalty, and the moment you drink it your familiar will get conjured into existence, to stand by your side forever.

• Shared Boon: A familiar bond is something magical in a very literal sense, through the friendship of two vastly different beings a unique magic is born. That magic, or 'boon', is what most people in the know focus on, because whatever it is it says something about the duo. This boon can be anything but generally it is a branch of magic, even if one of the duo already had access to it the boon would enhance it to new levels. One familiar bond with an eagle might give the boon that gives them the ability to control the weather, while another bond between the children of the duo might result in a boon of necromancy, allowing that duo to control the dead and sling vile spells. Of course there are exceptions, sometimes the boons are smaller, or concentrated, into complex or simple spells that does one thing and one thing only. And yet still the boons might be simple enhancements of existing capabilities of the duo, such as physical enhancements or enhancement of a singular move like a punch (i.e.: falcon punch). Due to your bond being created rather than found you have the option to choose which boon exactly that you get. It can be anything without any limits, even multiple boons at once though doing so will diminish the overall power of the boons. Also you have the ability to channel the power of your boon to your familiar and vice versa, enhancing them temporarily beyond their usual level, though doing so will leave you weakened and without the boon until you recover.

• Familiar Shape: While people who know familiar bonds are focused on the boon, the mundane folk simply do not see beyond the shape of the familiar, and as a created familiar you have great decision making ability in this area too. You can mold them like clay or assign a species, any species to your forming familiar. Are they a basilisk, killing anyone who meets their eyes bar you? Are they the avatar of a god, capable of channeling more power the closer your bond grows? Are they a simple elemental puppy? Or are they a ghost horse, possessing any vehicle you travel on and enhancing all of its capabilities? Either way your familiar will be an apex version of their species and will be able to grow ever stronger without limit, whether through training or through your bond together.

• Friendship Power: Though you can strain the limits of the boons you got from your bond to get stronger, the quickest way to increase your boon power is through increasing the bond you have with your familiar. This can be through combat, spending quality time together, training them, or otherwise interacting with each other. The closer your bond the stronger both of you will grow. Once your bond has grown enough you will gain the ability to transform into your familiar's race, and vice versa. Every memory you two make in close proximity will add to your power, though actual experiences will always triumph over simply lazing around unless one of you was feeling stretched thin and needed that rest day.

• One Soul, Two Bodies: The two of you are interconnected on a level far deeper than mental or spiritual, your essences are one, thus there is no chance of either of you turning hostile against each other. That would be like someone attacking their dominant hand because it betrayed them, utterly illogical and prevented by deeply rooted instinct. This connection also offers multiple gifts of itself too. Firstly you can communicate perfectly mentally and have perfect synergy in your actions without even needing to think about them.

• Second, your longevity has increased to match whichever one has the higher lifespan.

• Third, due to one soul two bodies sleeping next to each other gives you a level of comfort and rest beyond mortal levels, you wake up fully rested even from the briefest of naps, heal weeks word of physical each hour you sleep together, get rid of all stress, and even literally de-age to your prime from the rest, with each hour returning a day's worth of youth back. Fourth and finally, should one of you die, as long as the other lives, the dead one will return eventually, simply sleep nearby the remains, or wait long enough if they were fully disintegrated.
