AI summary

Gives you endless reincarnation that nothing can interfere with, prevent or hitch a ride on, with each death leading into a safe womb-like void where you access the full memories of all past lives and heal from their trauma. Once healed, the void replays your life from outside and tallies your karma, judged on the quantity and purity of intent rather than the significance of the deeds — so even removing Hitler for good reasons can register as negative if the intent was impure — with multifaceted intents scoring neutral; leftover negative karma must be paid off with drawbacks like lesser intelligence or a worse birth, while positive karma buys advantages such as past-life memories, greater talent, a chosen world or family, fated events, or minor traits. You can also force reincarnation on others by touching them or an accepted avatar such as a statue or photograph, guiding how their positive karma is spent, and doing this to great beings is safe because whatever depended on them keeps functioning.

Description

By drinking this base tasting essence you gain the Karmic Reincarnation System.

Effects

17
  • You will reincarnate forever, never staying dead for long. Should something forces you to stay alive when you would wish for death, you will reincarnate automatically.

  • Upon death you will enter a comfortable and dark void giving a feeling of safety and security that one can only feel in the womb. Inside the void you will have access to the full life memories of all your previous lives. The time spent in the void heals all the damage your previous life had inflicted upon you. Whether mental or spiritual. Not even complete destruction of your soul can stop the healing effect of the void.

  • Your reincarnation is sacred, so no other being might interfere with it, prevent it, or ‘hop a ride’ with you. Not even if you wanted to.

  • You can force reincarnation upon others with a touch, making them reborn in a place and life that is good/bad according to their Karma, you can guide what their positive karma is spent on. Making others reincarnate will kill/deactivate/unmake the target depending on their being, reincarnating a human would turn them into a vegetable that quickly dies due to their heart and brain stopping, while a ghost would simply vanish. Reincarnating objects makes them unable to be used as what they were before, a sword would disintegrate its blade, while a house’s four walls could spontaneously burst into rubble.

  • If the being you wish to reincarnate doesn’t have a solid form then touching their avatars would still count as touching them. This can be the statue of a god if they had accepted that as ‘made in their image’, or a picture of when they were alive if they are a ghost. Less effective with corporeal beings.

  • Reincarnating greater beings whose ‘death’ would create catastrophes is safe, as whatever was relying on their existence will keep on working even without them there.

  • Upon death, once you have healed enough the void shall show you your life from an outsider’s perspective and tally up your karmic values. The morality of the karma is based upon the life you just had, not your greater self, though some values are etched upon the soul so what you consider a taboo will stay a taboo between your lives even if you don’t have any memory.

  • The importance of the deed does not matter to the karma, only the amount and the ‘purity’ of the intent behind it. Kidnapping and dropping Adolf Hitler on a safe world before he could commit any atrocities could still count as one negative karma, as you are ripping an innocent man from all he knew and dropping him in a strange new land. Inverse is also true, stealing the meal of a relative can give one positive karma if your intent is to keep them from getting fat.

  • Sometimes intents are too multifaceted to be considered positive or negative, thus they are counted as neutral deeds, giving no positive nor negative karma.

  • At the end of the tally your negative karma score will be subtracted from the positive karma, if there is negative karma left over then they must be paid for with drawbacks. They can range from reincarnating with lesser intelligence, lesser strength, in an undesirable world/setting/culture, or even fated events.

  • With the positive karma you can buy advantages, which can range from the memories of your past life, increased potential/talent in an area, a better world/setting, a desired family, fated events, or traits like being ambidextrous or naturally good smelling.

  • The prices of the drawbacks are based upon your view of them at the time of your death. If you have a phobia for zombies then a zombie apocalypse world would be a drawback, if you were a cynic or fan of the genre then that would be an advantage. This also means the choices you have are restricted to the knowledge and imagination of your before death self had, if the person you were before you died could conceive the options, even in dreams, then they will be available, but if they can’t, then you won’t have them in your next life. A caveman cannot imagine space crafts, however a world where you stick your hair into a bird to make it fly you to fight against strange beings from the stars… Is possible.

  • If you spent enough time being blind, to the point you don’t consider it a drawback then it wouldn’t cost you much positive karma to redeem it. Or the opposite might happen, making you pay more to regain your sight.

  • Life itself leans towards positive karma so even a complete neutral life, or if you are forced to live a few lives as a drone/plant without a will to form an intent for your deeds, you would still generate positive karma.

  • Each life the power and achievement you have earned, from the number of friends to the number of skills you held to the fitness level of your body, all will be counted for positive karma. The greater your friends/subjects loyalty towards you, the greater your mastery of your skills, and the greater your stats, the greater the amount of positive karma you will earn. Because you will be losing them upon death, though your soul shall retain a certain amount of affinity for the skills, and you can buy an increased aptitude or a fate to push your new life to relearn your old skills. Or straight up retain the memories of your past life…

  • Certain advantages and drawbacks will change to suit your life. A fate drawback of your father abandoning you at a young age might be shifted to one of your mothers abandoning you, if you have two mothers, or if you are from a race of beings with a single parent then the drawback might make them an absent parent.

  • A fate advantage of gaining control of a motorbike gang through a race with its old boss plus reincarnating as a tiny fairy… Well that just might result in a small group of fairies taming humming birds to act as their mounts and you winning a race against them with the bet of becoming their new leader. Or if you reincarnate as a non-social species of carnivorous animal that walks on four legs you might get captured by a circus that trains a few members of your breed to put on a show of being a biker gang… Fate usually picks the easiest path to accomplishing its check list, so don’t make up an impossible fate or a fate of ‘becoming a superhero at age 1’ can turn into your mother dressing you up in an onesie and calling you her superhero.
