AI summary

Based on Don't Rest Your Head, it grants you a conceptual mad talent and access to the eldritch Mad City after long enough awake, ending your need to sleep with no ill effects, disciplining your will superhumanly, and pushing your body and your best talents past human limits. You choose one genuinely supernatural power of any kind — straightforwardly becoming strong, or becoming a giant lobster — a psychic ability fuelled by and sometimes causing madness, usable in strange ways that scale with effort, from lifting a car to lifting a building and someone's spirits at once. Such talents normally arise from mental problems, environmental crises or apparent randomness that later reveals its reason, though you may simply pick what you want; the power runs on discipline, exhaustion and madness, overuse erodes your Will until rest or a triumphant victory restores it, and you also gain exhaustion talents that spend stamina to raise your natural abilities to near-superhuman levels.

Description

Based on the tabletop RPG 'don't rest your head/don't lose your mind(the second one is a list of many examples of the powers). It's a bit like call of Cthulhu where magic causes SAN damage.

Effects

20
  • After spending a long time awake, you receive a conceptual, mad talent and the access to an eldritch place, the mad city.

  • You don't need to sleep anymore, you have no negative effects from this.

  • You awaken, your will becomes super-humanly disciplined, your body and a few talents you are the best at automatically grow beyond human limits and you possess ONE truly supernatural powers that can be used in conceptual levels.

  • Choose one power, concept, thing or some such of the sort. It can be as strange or direct as you with. A straight forward power of becoming strong or becoming a giant lobster. Regardless of what it is it will.

  • This power is a type of psychic power, it is fueled by madness or causes madness sometimes and damage the mind slightly, but not always. You heal with some rest.

  • It can be used in truly strange fashions. At lowers levels you may be able to lift a car and at higher levels of effort you can lift someones spirits while you lift a building. You may be able to summon a cab to get anywhere and anywhen, silence anything around you, such as force a person to not walk by silencing their footsteps. There are endless ways you can use your chosen madness talent.

  • Madness talents comes in three ways.

  • 1. Mental problems. This relates to childhood traumas or ongoing issues you have. Money problems gives you infinite money, or even stranger currencies, a fear of the dark may make everyone terrified of it and then make you into a shadow monster.

  • 2. Environmental problems. Being chucked into a cauldron by a witch chef, and you panic and become a giant lobster to kill her.

  • 3. Just random. You get this power for no reason, but it's not truly random. One day something will happen around you that will make you think "Ah, so THIS is the reason I've received this power".

  • That being said, you don't need to worry about this. You can choose whatever you want.

  • This power is fueled by 3 particular things. Discipline/willpower, Exhaustion/stamina and 'madness'/psychic power.

  • Overuse of madness talent can cause mental issues and erode your Will. Some period of rest or a crowing victory can heal you right up. REAL, incredible overuse (losing all your discipline) of this can make you into a nightmarish conceptual monster. You, uniquely can return even from total madness.

  • You also have exhaustion talents, you can spend physical stamina to bring your natural talents to overwhelming, near superhuman level.

  • You can pool together any type of power to use in your efforts. Using a little bit of madness to trigger your mad talent and fuel the rest with so much stamina that you pass out and your power will be fueled just fine. You can also channel pure willpower to lift something without becoming tired.

  • You have access to the mad city, a place beneath the normal world filled with nightmares. It's of a dream like quality, like the movie 'Inception'. You can use the mad city to access anywhere in the Omniverse, but you might have to crack some head to get there.

  • OPTIONALLY: You have infinite growth potential for DISCIPLINE, EXAUSTION and MADNESS. Your willpower and mental effort, physical strength and stamina; and your psychical energy will grow endlessly.

  • OPTIONALLY: Your can continuously acquire an infinite amount of talents, madness or otherwise, Through effort and time.

  • OPTIONALLY: You are immune to negative body/soul manipulations and your powers can't be stolen or suppressed or manipulated.

  • You should keep in mind that all descriptions here and in the original book are of otherwise normal humans with average level of power. Things would be quite different if you have infinite willpower and enough mana to blow up a city.
