AI summary

Gives you a new peak-human body sculpted to your preferences with your health problems fixed, slow perfect regeneration and fewer hygiene concerns, plus the combined training and reflexes of every special forces operator from both the real world and Firefall — competent with almost any gun or piece of personal kit. You gain unlimited, perfect, tamper-proof memory immune to cognitohazards, with working memory that expands as you use it, and immunity to mind control, manipulation, unwanted mind reading and body control. The Battleframe System grants mind-controlled advanced power armour — Assault, Dreadnought, Engineer, Recon and Biotech to start, modifiable, with sensors you read like your own body, one equipped at a time and the rest in storage, dismissable while still giving passive effects — along with gamey advantages: an HP barrier that reduces everything to scratch damage and regenerates out of combat, ammo pickups from defeated enemies, unlimited secondary reloads, fungible primary ammo, and perks unlocked as your frames grow stronger with use.

Description

This Essence comes in a plexiglass cylinder and has a weird blue crystal floating in it. It is thick, purple with white streaks, and tastes bitter.

Effects

  • You get a new body, sculpted according to your preferences, and an opportunity to fix any health issues you have.

  • Your new body is peak human, and will maintain this as long as you consume enough calories. It slowly regenerates completely and accurately, healing any injuries. It also has fewer health and hygiene concerns.

  • You gain the training and reflexes of special forces operators. All of them, from both the real world and the Firefall universe. You can use and maintain almost any gun or bit of personal equipment, are a master at tactics, and understand a decent amount of logistics and strategy. You also keep your cool in difficult situations, and can continue thinking calmly even while doing something based on reflex.

  • You have an unlimited and perfect memory. It is immune to cognitohazards and cannot be tampered with. Your working memory and ability hold different concepts in your mind at once expands the more knowledge you have.

  • You are immune to mind control, mind manipulation, unwanted mind reading, and body control.

  • You now have access to a "Battleframe System" which gives access to advanced power armor. You start with access to Assault, Dreadnought, Engineer, Recon, and Biotech battleframes, and can modify them and develop more.

  • The Battleframe System allows you to control any functions and configurations of the battleframe with your mind. You can also read your battleframe's sensors like it's part of your own body.

  • You can have one battleframe equipped at a time, and can switch it out while within safe zones. Non-equipped battleframes exist within a special storage space.

  • You can "dismiss" your battleframe, hiding it and preventing you from accessing most of its functions. It will still provide passive effects while dismissed.

  • The Battleframe System grants you a few gamey advantages.

  • You have a barrier of "HP" that prevents you from taking more than scratch damage, capacity based on your equipped battleframe. This passively regenerates when out of combat.

  • Your enemies drop ammo pickups when defeated, and your weaker "secondary" weapons have unlimited reloads. Ammo is fungible between your primary weapons.

  • As you gain proficiency and experience using your Battleframes, they become stronger, and you gain access to perks, which provide various advantages to you and your combat capabilities.

  • You have an inventory and a research subsystem. These share a set of slots that can be used for crafting or research projects. You start with three, and can gain more.

  • You can craft "deployables" that interact with the Battleframe System. These include things like HP restores, ammo drops, a mobile garage to switch battleframes in combat, and even the ability to summon vehicles and heavy equipment to your location.

  • You can choose to revive at the closest safe zones you visited if killed, though this does damage your active equipment.

  • Whenever you assist with a material harvesting operation, you gain a portion of the harvests as a copied payment.

  • Your inventory allows you to store objects without them really existing. Time, chemical processes, and/or thermal transfer only happens if desired for specific objects. It has a limited mass capacity, but this will grow over time.

  • Common materials and money within the inventory can be converted to crystite, an exotic crystal material. Your inventory can also convert crystite into any currency you have handled. Crystite does not occupy mass in your inventory. Crystite can be used as part of many technological constructs, from alloys to perpetual-energy generators and FTL drives. You can also use crystite to instantly repair things.

  • Included when you drink this Essence are a primary weapon for each of your battleframes, and a secondary weapon.

  • Crafting can take raw and/or intermediate materials and turn them into finished products based on blueprints. This takes time, with more intermediate steps, more material involved, and more complexity of the finished product requiring more time.

  • Crafting can be set to automatically repeat, and smartly handle resource shortages.

  • It is also possible to do "ad hoc" crafting without a blueprint, though this is dependent on your personal understanding. This is ideal for modifying equipment.

  • Crafting goes faster the more crafting you have done.

  • Your research subsystem allows you to study new technologies and develop and refine known ones. It is powered by "research points," a generalization of knowledge, insight, and computation.

  • You slowly gain research points over time, as a result of your mental capabilities, and that you could in theory be focusing really hard on one project. However, this is separate from your actual mental activity, and on top of the results of any study and R&D you do outside of the subsystem.

  • Research projects consume research points over time. This maximum consumption rate is based on your passive generation rate, with a fixed multiplier. The research point cost of a project depends on how outside of your knowledge base and how complex it is. It is reduced by doing research with overlapping requirements.

  • A completed project will grant you understanding, as if you had puzzled everything out the hard way, as well as potentially blueprints. It is also several times faster than doing so outside of your subsystem, even factoring in things like attention span, sleep, and downtime.

  • You can instantly break down things from your inventory into research points. More material, technical expertise, and intricacy involved in the objects increases your research point gains.

  • Directly shoving in an object allows you to reverse-engineer it, which can potentially open up new research projects, or make existing projects cheaper. Doing this does not cost research points, but does take time. At the end of the project, the object will be broken down into research points, as well.

  • Your knowledge base starts with a firm grounding in Accord technologies, including things like forcefields, energy weapons, FTL drives, and other such technologies.
