• At a base level this Essence grants you enhanced creativity, biological immortality, and an updating mental index of stories you've written at least one chapter for. The "updating" part of this index is that this mental repository updates as you write more stories.

• The primary function of this Essence is to give you the ability to become the protagonists of the stories you write. You can tap into the index of stories you've written at least one chapter for and can become the protagonist of the story, gaining their abilities and entering a story you've written at any point in the story itself, by opening a portal and stepping through it. This can be done at any time, and you can use this to lucid dream if you wish, but you can also stop time in the world you are natively from while you are in the story-world.

• While the process of self-inserting is easiest, and at the beginning ONLY possible to do with protagonists, as you gain more experience with this Essence you'll be able to insert into stories you've written as characters other than the protagonist including antagonists.

• You have the ability to insert into your stories at any point in the story with the powers of the protagonist (or other characters once you've gained more experience with the Essence) at their max allowing you to insert into a world right at the beginning of the story as the most powerful version of the protagonist.

• You gain echoes of the powers of your protagonists in the real world, and can train these echoes until they match the powers used by any of your protagonists in scale, scope, and can even continue honing these powers, though it's far easier to train a power in a story with a protagonist who has a given power than to train an echo of it or to train it as a protagonist who lacks it.

• Dying in one setting only knocks you out and sends you back home.

• You can clear your mind of spoilers if that'd be fun for you.

• Once you have become a protagonist for the first time their powers and forms become part of an alt-form you can use in any story-world, though at first the echo rules apply (this is much easier to overcome in a story world than in the real world, thankfully). This means you can have a story where you are an all-powerful divinity or a mighty mage king and use those powers and that appearance in a story where the protagonist is a scared little kid on the run from the government. With enough experience you can eventually access these alt-forms in the real world.

• Barring efforts by you to change things, stories you insert into will abide by the same rules you established and the plot will be the same. It will take deliberate effort by you to change the events of the plot of the world(s) you visit, but it can be done and the setting will react accordingly.

• You can add new stories to the index by writing them. You don't have to publish them anywhere, this can be a purely introspective activity on your part and you will still feel the effects of the Essence.
