The Essence of theLamb

When you drink this Essence, you feel pain rip through you for a moment. It stops only a second later, and you begin to feel... rejuvenated.

• When you drink this Essence nothing changes at first. The next time you go to sleep you dream of a dreary white prison, and a strange being wrapped in chains that immobilize it. It tells you to draw near to it. If you do then it will gift you with a red crown that it says will shapeshift into something appropriate when you don it and will always be an accessory of some sort that boosts your apparent dignity and charisma. The chained being tells you it is in need of your aid, and if you aid it that it shall reward you for your efforts. In order to aid it you must create a cult in its name and hunt down its enemies. If you do not approach the creature then it will continue to appear in your dreams, until you do approach.

• When you first awaken after approaching the divinity and taking their crown you will be surprised to discover that you have gained a new form. Your new form is that of an anthropomorphic lamb. This is an optional form and you don it as you please. Followers of yours can also be gifted the forms of anthropomorphic animals, most notably anthropomorphic mammals though if you have connections to other animals that aren't mammals you may someday gain the power to give them the forms of other animals.

• The crown is a conduit to the chained god. It is also a potent artifact that can shapeshift into various forms, most notably weapons but also a grimoire and a number of handy tools that will aid you in day-to-day life. As you gain followers their devotion will flow into the crown and through the crown into the god.

• Gaining followers is quite easy. The power of the crown amplifies your charisma and fascinates people so when you show your powers, which will range from firing supernatural projectiles to healing wounds, people will quickly become devoted to you. You can also work to increase the devotion of the other beings and thus increase how much faith they provide to your god. You can also perform rituals, and sacrifices, which will either slowly increase your power permanently or temporarily supercharge individual aspects of yourself. These ceremonies also transmit power to the bishop you serve.

• Over time you will eventually discover what happened to the bishop who has given you the red crown. He was a member of a council of other bishops before he was betrayed by them and sealed away. He tasks you with defeating them, taking their hearts, and freeing him. Bishops are beings like him, that have and can bestow powers. If you challenge them they'll begin to attempt to learn about you, and will begin to send their followers after you. If you defeat them then you can take their hearts and gain facsimiles of their powers.

• Assuming you do as you are asked you will gradually grow in power over time, and sooner or later you'll gain the power to free the bishop. If you do you could betray him and take on his power, or you could free him and he will reward you and give you the power to travel to other places, other worlds, and spread his name. If you defeat him and gain his power you can also travel to other worlds, and you can do as he did and share potent artifacts with creatures you make deals with.
