Essence ofPost-Apocalyptic Newbie Survival Gear

Hey, it looks like you're going on an adventure right? Are you all set? Things can get a bit hairy out there if you're not prepared. No? Well, I can't in good conscience let you go out there without some basic gear first. Well, come over here to my armory and let me see what I've got here. I don't know how useful it will be, but I'd like to give it to you anyway. Don't worry about upkeeping it, it'll basically take care of itself, and it'll be replaced if you ever lose them or give them to somebody else. The essence makes sure that even if there's magical bullshit, it's still fully usable.

• A lighter and a compass. You never know when those will come in handy. Nothing too special about the compass, but the lighter lasts forever and lights just as well in wind and rain. Not underwater though, I'm not that bullshit.

• A clipboard with weatherproof sleeve. The board itself has a calendar, checklist, and notification space that self-updates to remind you about appointments, nutrition, hydration, that kind of thing. And of course, you can clip paper to it to keep things from blowing away in the wind or something.

• I've got a backpack here. Old army surplus with Kevlar weave. It won't stop a bullet, but it resists scrapes and tears like nobody's business.

• A submachine gun. It comes standard in 5.45 by 39mm Russian but I can re-chamber it for any pistol or intermediate cartridge you'd prefer. It's got poor accuracy and overheats like hell. That's why they call it a Bastard gun. Help yourself to some ammo too. You can take as much as you can carry now, and then 30 rounds a day in a shiny new box magazine.

• Here's a personal pistol shotgun. It's single shot and fires a 12-gauge shotgun shell. I've got plenty here, buckshot, birdshot, slug, sabot. Birdshot is good for getting dinner so make sure to take some when you leave. The shells are all loose, so take as many as you can fit in your pockets. You'll get four new ones every week.

• A head lamp for if you go into any dark places. It's 500 lumens and it's LED powered so it should basically last forever. It also has a bit of UV band too, just in case you run into spoopy shit that's vulnerable to that.

• Night Vision Goggles are good for seeing in the dark without giving away your position. If you ever need to do sneaky stuff, that's what you want to use.

• Here's a universal charger to keep the batteries powered. It's a squeeze crank so it's nice and compact. Also great for relieving stress.

• Military Grade Ammunition is great for when you really really need to make something dead. Same caliber as your submachine gun. They hit twice as hard as your normal ammo and they've got anti "spoopy shit" properties. I can't guarantee that you'll kill what you're shooting at especially if they're naturally bulletproof, but if you hit them, you'll at least do something. You get 30 today and ten every week.

• Army issue first aid kits. The provided squeeze bulb syringe in each one contains a drug that speeds up your body's natural healing processes. Take two now, and then you'll get another one every week.

• And a gas mask. Put it on if there's something really nasty in the air like chemicals or radiation or viruses and shit. It takes a 40mm NATO standard filter and these things last for about 8 hours. You get two filters in protective packaging and one new one per week.

• Here's a watch that keeps track of all sorts of stuff, like the time, how long your filter will last and also lights up if you're easily visible. It beeps twice to notify you to check your clipboard for notifications and the times to tell you to replace your filter. It's got a silent and vibrate mode too if you need to keep things discrete.

• Alright, you're supplied my friend. While you're here, feel free to try your weapons on my firing range. There are also other accessories like barrel shrouds and stocks and silencers and stuff and you can go nuts with those before you go.
