Essence of theReincarnating Champion

This glass flask appears to be filled with a clear liquid, but looking through it reveals something strange; if you look through it you don't see the other side, but instead some different world entirely. It tastes of cinnamon and saffron.

• Upon consuming this Essence, you gain the ability to reincarnate endlessly.

• At each death, your soul will briefly go into a fugue state where it review it's previous life, weighs and judges what it feels it needs, and the important and the useful experiences you've had during that life, and burns them into a permanent memory you can always access. This record can't be tempered with, damaged, blocked, or removed by any means. You aren't ever forced to record anything into permanent memory, and (for example), if you were captured and tortured for a million years, you could choose to leave that out, even if it made up the majority of that life.

• The core of your 'selfhood' is preserved in those records, though the generalities will be taken from your current life. You survive, yet have a new start to reinvent yourself each time.

• Any powers you obtained or internalized also get written into your soul on death. Physical ones are recorded as mutations or transformations you can undergo or utilize, mental ones as records you can access like you can memories, and spiritual ones as persistent spiritual growth. Such abilities will work for you even if you take them out of their world of origin, supported by the back-end spiritual structures your soul develops. Abilities on your soul never harm you simply by having them, nor interfere with each other, or with abilities you gained during your current life.

• When you die, you can generally wish for the circumstances of your next rebirth; do you want to stay in your current world, or go to a new (or old) one? If your current (or old) world, how long before your next birth? If a new one, the general nature of the world. You can pick things like social class, sex and gender, and even what kind of family will have you. This isn't an almighty process, if your choices contradict each other, then one factor or another will give way, though you can choose which factor takes precedent.

• Your current power acts as a ceiling. If you have no magic, than you couldn't be reborn as a dragon, though you could be reborn into a family with mild inherent magic and develop it further, or into a mundane family and just develop magic the hard way in that life.

• You have a metaphysical advantage against Death, soul-stealing, and other forces that would attempt to interfere with your reincarnation. It's hard to stop you from moving on if you wish to hang on (or alternative, easy to hang on if you wish to stick around as a ghost or get resurrected). You are generally hard to perceive by such forces. If you do get involved with such (like becoming a ghost), the spiritual dangers of such a state are reduced for you, and you can choose to reincarnate at to escape one of the dooms such a state exposes you to.
