AI summary
Offers to send you back to the 1980s and makes you a one-person development studio, granting minor proficiency in every coding language and engine that improves with any coding you do even in unrelated systems, plus perfect understanding of what every part of your code does and why, including code you are not currently looking at. You gain optional proficiency in art, music, game design, production and testing — or any other role you find useful — can begin a new game from a base equivalent to three months' work without it counting against you, and always progress cleanly since your codebases are secure and modular and rarely need rewriting — while spending about a week researches a game 'topic', giving you a core understanding of a genre or mechanic, experience eventually lets you build your own hardware from arcade machines up to consoles beyond anything on the market, and money buys virtual copies of yourself that work as you would without needing sleep — or, if that unsettles you, lets you transfer your coding proficiency to real employees or run the copies as virtual employees instead. Should you ever gain universe travel, you will always know where to find the universe of any game you have finished making.

Description
This Essence is in an odd bottle which looks like a game controller, though you can't look inside it. Once you finish drinking it, you are faced with a prompt. "Head back in time to the 80s?", and gain the following effects.
Effects
15You gain a minor proficiency in all coding types and engines, a proficiency which only improves with any coding done, even if on an entirely different system of code.
You will always know what portions of code are referring to, how they work, and why they are needed. You are able to do this with all parts of the code you make, even when not directly looking at it.
You are a one person development team. As such, you gain proficiency in all of the following...
All of these are optional and may be obtained at any time: Art (Any Form), Music (Any Form), Game Design, Producer, and Tester. If you can think of any other role that would be useful for your current game, you may temporarily gain it while making it.
When making a new game, you may choose to start with a base. This base is a basic version of the game as if you had already worked on it for 3 months up to this point. This however, does not count as you doing any coding.
You will always be progressing. Your coding bases with always be secure, and modular to be able to build on top of, and very rarely will you need to change something you have already made unless it is your choice to.
You may research game "topics" by spending a week or so of time. With this, you will be able to get a core understanding of that topic, and how to make them work, be it from the genre of an FPS, or how to make an abstract game.
As you gain experience, you can make your own consoles. While at the start you may only make things such as arcade machines, with enough you can engineer consoles that you could only find in your wildest dreams! Just... Keep in mind legal issues that may happen if you try to sell something like "a console that can play all games". You can also use this to make your own engines on the same principle.
As you gain money, you may also buy "copies" of yourself. While not technically real, these virtual copies will essentially work on things as you would, and unlike you don't need to sleep. These require a wage as upkeep, starting from minimum wage, and increasing ever so slightly with each one. With enough cash, you can essentially have a company of you, just tell them what to work on.
Should endless copies of you not seem appealing, you can instead give a copy of your coding experience and proficiencies into actual employees, or you can instead have the virtual copies be virtual employees with differing personality and viewpoints. Certainly helps make sure there's more imagination going through it other than your own.
Should you obtain any form of universe traveling, you will always know where the universe of any games you make can be found, allowing you quick access to and fro, but it must be finished first.
Right when you are about to start your first game, you will receive a free loan of about $10000, or at least enough to keep you going for a good few months.
Your ability to program and other such roles are not to be questioned by those around you, unless you allow them to be.
Optionally, you may go back in time to the 80s, around the rise of the video game industry. You will be given a house to stay in and an office in its garage. You also gain a portal opener to go back and forth from this alternate timeline to your modern day. The other reality may be considered paused while not in it.
Optionally, you may start with your own game store application like Steam or the Wii Shop, with any features you wish for them to have. If you want, this can be in no way tracked back to you, and it shall not be questioned.
